Trust good ole Walt to drop a nugget in a movie.  The theme of wishing, dreams and goal setting can be found in so many Disney movies.   Today one of my dreams will be fulfilled.  By the time you read this post I will be preparing to or would have already walked across the stage to be hooded Dr. Tee.  I've always hated school but loved learning. I was challenged by one of my undergraduate business professors to master my field and then get my terminal degree.  Me? Dr. Tee?  How Sway?

One day I just did it like Nike!  I didn't have a great epiphany.  I didn't hear a voice as loud as a trumpet speaking to me from heaven.  I needed a distraction from life and the seed had been planted many years prior.  On the humble,  I enrolled into my first doctoral class. Five academic years later I successfully defended my dissertation and today I will be hooded.  I envisioned this day 5 years ago.  Sitting in the crowd listening to a boring commencement speech knowing my daughter would be rows behind me sharing the same sentiment. Texting my friends in the group chat about something unrelated to graduation that would be sure to make me fake a cough in order to stifle a laugh.  Waiting ever so impatiently to hear my name announced so I could Milly Rock across the stage.  That day I dreamed about has arrived like Hakeem from Zamunda landing in America.

I will bask in this glory for a few moments but like the true Aquarian that I am I won't stay here too long.  I have other dreams to fulfill, other goals to attain.  I can't stop, won't stop (Diddy bop) dreaming.  How can I?  I AM the dream and the hope of the slave.  I AM my ancestors' wildest dreams.  I AM the dream my parents envisioned when they were at work long hours and late nights to make sure I received a good education.  I AM my daughter's goal.

One dream is fulfilled but I must dream on.  I must continue to rise to higher levels in life as I aim to fulfill my purpose.  I want that for you too.  You are my people.  Spend some time today thinking about your dream.   What dream have you put on the back burner because you are a parent, an employee, serve with a non profit, a caregiver to a loved one, a spouse or just tired?  Maybe your zeal for life and your flame for growth has blown out. Well you're in luck because brunch with Tee is serving motivation on the menu today.

DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!  You were not designed to quit. If you don't know where to start, start right there.  Every day do something toward fulfilling your dream.  Maybe it will be just spending five minutes networking, or twenty minutes working.  It doesn't matter what you do as long as you remember to, "dream big, dream often, activate, repeat"!

Now tell me, what's your dream?
